2. What this website does with data, in short

This website is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no advertising or tracking scripts, and loads no fonts or scripts from third-party servers. Personal data is processed in two situations only: when your browser requests a page (server logs at our hosting provider) and when you send us an enquiry through the contact form or by e-mail.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, through its European data centres (Cloudflare Workers). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser type and operating system. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver the site, to protect it against attacks and for error analysis. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure and efficient website. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and bound by the EU standard contractual clauses; details in Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. Log data is kept for a short period for security purposes and then deleted.

4. Enquiry form and e-mail

If you use the contact form, we process the details you enter (name, company, e-mail address, your message) together with the time of sending and the country derived from your IP address. The message is transmitted to us by e-mail through Resend, a service of Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA, which processes it in its EU region (Ireland). A confirmation with a copy of your message is sent to the e-mail address you entered. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (answering your enquiry). Resend acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and is bound by the EU standard contractual clauses; see resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Enquiries are stored in our mailbox for as long as needed to answer them and, where they lead to a business relationship, for the statutory retention periods. Otherwise they are deleted after twelve months at the latest.

The form contains a hidden field to detect automated submissions. Submissions that fill this field are discarded without being sent.

5. Cookies, fonts and third-party content

This website sets no cookies. Fonts (Montserrat, Inter, Noto Sans SC) are served from our own hosting, not from Google or other font services. The site contains links to LinkedIn; no data is transferred to LinkedIn until you click such a link, after which LinkedIn's privacy policy applies.

6. Analytics

No analytics service is in use at present. Should we introduce one, we will use a cookie-free, privacy-preserving service and update this policy before it goes live.

7. Recipients of data

Your data is received only by the controller and by the processors named above (Cloudflare for hosting, Resend for the delivery of enquiries). We do not sell or pass on personal data to other third parties.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, lfd.niedersachsen.de.

9. Encryption

All pages and the contact form are delivered over TLS (https). Data you send through the form is encrypted in transit.

10. Changes

We update this policy when the website or the services behind it change. The date at the top shows the current version.
